At OD-POS ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of restaurant owners, operators, floor staff, and dining guests. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store, process, and protect your information when using the OD-POS Android application and associated services.

1. Information We Collect

When you register, configure, and use OD-POS, we collect the following types of information:

  • Restaurant Account Information: Business name, address, GSTIN / tax identification number, contact email, and telephone number.
  • Staff Credentials: Waiter and manager usernames, encrypted security PINs, and assigned operational roles.
  • Menu & Inventory Data: Dish names, categories, pricing, raw ingredient recipes, and stock ledger levels.
  • Transaction & Order Records: Tables, itemized orders, timestamps, bill amounts, tax calculations, payment methods (Cash, UPI, Card), and order preparation states.
  • Hardware Information: Device model, Android OS version, and paired Bluetooth / Wi-Fi thermal printer MAC addresses for seamless auto-reconnection.

2. Device Permissions Used by the App

OD-POS requests only the essential Android device permissions necessary to operate as a handheld billing terminal:

  • Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH_SCAN with neverForLocation): Required solely to discover, pair, and send ESC/POS print commands to 58mm and 80mm wireless thermal receipt printers. We do not track user physical location.
  • Camera (CAMERA) & Photo Gallery: Optional permission used exclusively when a restaurant manager chooses to snap or upload food photographs for the digital menu.
  • Network & Internet (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used to synchronize transactional records with your cloud dashboard when an internet connection is available.

3. Offline-First Storage & Data Security

OD-POS is built on an offline-first architecture. All your daily billing transactions, table states, and inventory data are stored securely in a local SQLite database directly on your device.

  • Data on the device is protected by Android application sandboxing.
  • Cloud synchronizations are encrypted using industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption.
  • We do not sell, rent, or monetize your restaurant data or customer records to third parties.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account data for as long as your restaurant maintains an active subscription. Restaurant owners may request partial or complete deletion of their account, staff records, and customer logs at any time by visiting our dedicated Data Deletion Request Page.

5. Children's Privacy

Our software is an enterprise point-of-sale tool intended strictly for restaurant business staff and operators. It is not directed at or designed for individuals under the age of 18.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
